Introduction

 
   
The Yang di-Pertuan Agong portal is developed to fulfill the need for general knowledge concerning the institution of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. The portal is developed for the purpose of providing information that is both authoritative and comprehensive so that the people can understand the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s position in the Federal Constitution. This understanding is important for nurturing the feelings of love and loyalty towards the ruler and the nation.

    What do I need to know about the Monarchy System in Malaysia?  
   
  • Act 32 of the Federal Constitution reinforces His Majesty’s position under the Constitution. This section also contains, amongst others, the process of electing the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and his Deputy, the list of rulers to choose from and the role of the Council of Rulers. It is also explained here how the balloting is carried out in the election of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the oath of officeis taken, and the handing of the Instrument of Office.

    Curious about the Istana Negara?  
   
  • Istana Negara is the official residence of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong. There are two categories of areas in the Istana Negara, i.e. the area arround the building housing the Throne Room, the Banquet Hall, the Conference Room of the Council of Rulers, Small Audience Room, Ambassadors’ Room, Small Throne Room, Queen’s Room, Ministers’ Room and Throne Room. The area outside the Istana Negara are the Istana Gardens and Istana Square. The functions of each area are explained in detail in this section. Virtual visits to a few of these areas are also provided to give a clearer picture.
